Gander Mountain Store Coming to Village Commons
Regency Properties, owners of Village Commons Shopping Center in Evansville, IN announced today that Gander Mountain, a major national sporting goods store is coming to the center. Located east of Green River Road on the north side of the Lloyd Expressway, Village Commons expects to see construction beginning on the store within a few days.
Gander Mountain, whose slogan “we live outdoors” attests to their hunting, fishing and camping focus, is a 105-store retailer located in 22 states. The new 53,000+ square foot store will anchor the east end of the shopping center, taking over space formerly occupied primarily by Buehler’s BuyLow.
Jim Wittman, Regency Properties’ director of development said, “We are very excited about Gander Mountain’s move into Evansville. They’ll fill a unique niche in the market for hunting and fishing enthusiasts. They’re also known nationally for their outstanding selection of outdoor apparel—including Columbia Sportswear and their exclusive Guide Series line, as well as for televised hunting and fishing programs for enthusiasts.”
In addition to hunting and fishing equipment, Gander Mountain features camping and outfitting supplies, boats, outdoor recreation gear and apparel. The original store opened in 1960 in Wilmot, WI.
Village Commons is currently anchored by Hobby Lobby, Value City Furniture and Fox and Hound. The shopping center is one of seven shopping centers in Evansville owned and managed by Regency, whose commercial property locations include middle-American communities in five states.
